"Dare You to Move" by Switchfoot

I LOVE this song. I always, always, always feel better after I listen to it. There are times when I
just have to stop and remember that life is hard and it's
just a matter of picking myself up and starting
the race of life again. This song encourages me to do just that. The part about the tension between
who I am and what I could be, "how it is and how it should be" really makes me feel like I'm not the
only one that deals with the feelings of frustration. There is escape and there will be
redemption...you've just got to dare to move.

(I condensed the lyrics a little bit...there are a lot of repeated sections.)

Welcome to the planet, Welcome to existence
Everyone's here, Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now, What happens next?

I dare you to move, I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move, Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout, Welcome to resistance
The tension is here, Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

I dare you to move, I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move , Like today never happened
Today never happened

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

I dare you to move, I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move, Like today never happened
Today never happened before
