Girlie Songs

I'm stuck on girlie, pop/country songs this week. Must be a mood I'm in or something...anyway, if you don't like them, that's okay. I'll get out of this phase eventually!

"The Climb" by Miley Cyrus

Now, before all you Miley-haters start in on me, this is a really great song! I liked it before I knew who sang it - honestly, I was surprised that is was Miley Cyrus. The music itself lifts me up - it starts all soft but it builds with the message. There's always gonna be another mountain. It's not about what you get after you reach the top; it's about how you get there. Keep moving forward. Everyone needs to hear that sometimes.

"Love Story" by Taylor Swift
Okay, her voice is yummy. Young, but yummy. The driving beat of the chorus followed by suddenly quiet sections keeps it interesting. I love the story of this song and the passion you can hear in her voice as she sings about him kneeling to the ground and pulling out a ring. Gives me warm fuzzies. :-)

Old stories and fairy tales don't just have to be in your mind: mine wasn't. I was literally "the girl next door" and I fell in love with my husband the moment I saw him. We were so young! Even thought I wasn't "on a balcony in the summer air," it was just as good. We met, dated, and got married within 2 years. It's been a wild ride since but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I've tried to keep "Baby, just say yes" as my attitude and my hubs is still my Romeo.

Alright, my sappy self has worn out. There's only so much sweetness I can take! I'm definitely in a better mood after listening to these songs. Happy, happy, happy!
